While technology is the
heart of our business it is our manufacturing that puts the technology into products our
customers can use to produce quality rollers.
We believe that to produce clean quality rubber
compounds the work |

environment must be clean and spotless .
Our factory is just that, and kept immaculately clean at all times. Once orders for rubber compounds have been received from a customer they are
entered into the manufacturing flow of production. A |
| batch sheet is printed from the computer
for each compound, consisting of its formulation and all the necessary information for
producing the order, including detailed mixing instructions and other specifications. Each ingredient required for a formulation is carefully
weighed out in our compounding area. Because of |
 |
 |
the diverse operation of application the
roller industry deals with, and the many unique and different formulations we have
available to meet those requirements, raw materials must be kept on hand for essentially
all those formulations. These include different types of elastomers, fillers,
plasticisers, colour |
| pigments, processing aids, accelerators,
curitives and other numerous additives. After a batch is
compounded, or weighed up, it is delivered to the mill for mixing. Each ingredient is
added in precise order, per mixing procedures derived by our technical |
 |
 |
staff. Chilled water is circulated through
the mill rolls to control the amount of heat generated during the mixing process. Once the
batch has been thoroughly and carefully mixed it is removed from the mill and stripped off
in ribbon form. The ribbon of rubber is then passed through a water bath or cooling tank
where it is |
