Newsletter
Hello and welcome friends, customers old and new to Chase Elastomer (UK) Ltds first newsletter of 2002.
As if we are telling you anything new! The economy has been through a rough old patch with demands again being made on the manufacturing sector and particular affecting the roller industry. Most of our customers in our global market have reported a downturn in business over this period and there has been a fair bit of merger activity. Companies have been bought and sold and a few having succumbed to the pressure of bad times, with this being truly worldwide. Competition has been keen among roller companies and new players have emerged in the compounding industry.
All at Chase Elastomer (UK) Ltd are pleased that from our purpose built research and manufacturing facility in the north of the UK we are successfully selling rubber compounds in the worldwide market, including; the Far East, North America, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern and Western Europe, Scandinavia and or course throughout the UK. While our manufacturing and research facilities are located in the UK we are truly a world player. Our services and quality are second to none. At Chase Elastomer (UK) Ltd. we mix all our compounds in-house on our three 84 mills, from raw material we keep on hand and not from master batches mixed elsewhere. At Chase Elastomer (UK) we have total control over our quality and we can provide essentially immediate service on any of our 1000 + formulations. We strain all rubber compounds to be calendered through our six-inch extruder and at this moment in time we operate two calenders, with one calender being used exclusively for silicone compounds.
We at Chase are dedicated exclusively to the rubber roller industry. This makes us unique amongst our competitors, because essentially all of them are involved in producing products for other industries and in some cases are even owned by roller companies. We believe this sets Chase apart and makes us unique in our focus to the rubber roller industry. We offer rubber compounds in essentially every elastomer available over a full range of hardnesses and in all colours. You can obtain more information about Chase Elastomer (UK) Ltd by contacting our web site at www.chaseuk.com.
The pricing of rubber compounds is very important to all roller manufacturers, as the rubber used for covering is their largest purchase item. Knowing our customers and their marketplace we are sensitive to pricing issues and since 1995 we have been unwilling to pass any raw material cost increases onto our customers. Some of our competitors have offered compound prices lower than the current marketplace in an effort to acquire business on a cost basis. The price consistency of any loss leading compounds now on the marketplace have yet to settle down and I am sure over the fullness of time the true difference between consistency and true cost will be highlighted. We all are aware of the difference between true price and true cost and may I assure you that we all at Chase do not subscribe to this method of selling. As always we will continue to demonstrate our committed desire to work in partnership with our customers to promote and establish long term working business relationships.
As to the future we are optimistic the economy will improve over the remainder of 2002. We do not anticipate changes in raw material prices, or put another way, we are not prepared to accept any increases on raw materials and thus you can expect our prices to hold throughout the remainder of the year. We are actively looking to expand our marketplace worldwide and understand that our customers require the highest standards; therefore we strive to ship out compounds of the highest quality in a timely manner for each and every customer with every delivery. Realistically 2002 will be hard work for all of us, but we are optimistic that it will be better than last year.
This letter is being sent out to all the rubber roller manufactures on our extensive database, many of whom have worked closely with us and the information enclosed herein is nothing new to you. To you, we say thank you for your support.
